  Scott's family lives in the city apartment. His family loves growing vegetables. They bought a small piece of land in the countryside.

   Every weekend they go there to work on their vegetable garden. They have planted many vegetables. Every week they bring back some vegetables to eat. They don't need to buy any vegetables. Scott can go and feed the farm animals nearby as well. He likes to feed the rabbits.

  Like Scott's family, many families that live in the city rent or buy a small piece of land in the countryside to grow vegetables.

  Do you know why people call it a "hotdog"?

  In 1980, sausages had another name called "dachshound" in German. People used to eat sausages with buns while watching a baseball game.

  One day a comic artist drew sausages with buns in his cartoon. He named it a 'hot dog' because he didn't know how to spell dachshund. From then on people started to call it a hot dog. Hot dog is much easier than dachshund!

A parrot never keeps quiet around strangers. Debbie found a lost bird last year. At first, she wasn't sure how to find the owner. Then the parrot started talking. First it was saying, "kiss" and "good". Soon the bird started saying "Annie!: loudly. Debbie called the police and found out that Annie lost her bird. Soon, the lost bird was returned to Annie. "Once the parrot started talking, he wouldn't stop!" said Debbie.
