Everyone has worries. When you have things you worry about, what do you do? Here are some things that three teenagers worry about.

 

누구나 고민은 있습니다. 여러분은 걱정되는 것이 있을 때 무엇을 하나요? 여기 세 명의 청소년이 걱정하는 것들이 있습니다.

 

 

 

 

Sohui thought Hayeon was her best friend, but now, Sohui feels that Hayeon has changed and she is avoiding her.

Sohui: (To her older sister) You know my friend Hayeon, don’t you?

Sister: Yeah. Why? What about her?

Sohui: I feel she’s avoiding me. When I see her at school, she turns around and walks away from me.

Sister: I’m sorry to hear that. Do you have any idea why she does that?

Sohui: No. I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong. It just feels like she doesn’t like me anymore.

Sister: Maybe you should just ask her if there is something wrong.

Sohui: Maybe I should. I still want to be friends with her.

소희는 하연이가 그녀의 가장 친한 친구라고 생각했지만, 지금은 하연이가 변했고 그녀를 피한다고 느낍니다.

소희: (그녀의 언니에게) 내 친구 하연이 알지, 그렇지?

언니: 응. 왜? 그녀가 어떤데?

소희: 나는 그녀가 나를 피하고 있다고 느껴. 학교에서 내가 그녀를 볼 때 그녀는 돌아서서 나로부터 멀리 걸어가.

언니: 그거 참 안타깝구나. 너는 그녀가 왜 그렇게 하는지 아니?

소희: 아니. 나는 내가 잘못한 것이 있다고 생각하지 않아. 단지 그녀가 더 이상 나를 좋아하지 않는다고 느껴져.

언니: 혹시 모르니 뭔가 잘못된 것이 있는지 그녀에게 물어봐.

소희: 아마 그래야겠어. 나는 여전히 그녀와 친구로 지내고 싶거든.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Daeho, thinking that new things will make him more popular, often wants new things just because his friends have them.

Daeho: Seongjin, look at my new sneakers. What do you think?

Seongjin: They’re nice, but didn’t you just buy new sneakers a couple of months ago?

Daeho: Yeah, but they’re no longer in style. I look cooler in these, right?

Seongjin: Daeho, wearing the latest fashion doesn’t make you cooler or more popular. People like you because you’re you, not because of your clothes.

Daeho: Yeah?

Seongjin: Listen, you’re a great guy. You don’t need new sneakers to prove it.

 

대호는 새 물건이 그를 더 인기 있게 만들어 줄 것이라고 생각해서 단지 친구들이 그것을 가지고 있다는 이유로 종종 새 물건을 사기를 원합니다.

대호: 성진아, 내 새 운동화 봐. 어떠니?

성진: 멋지다. 그런데 몇 달 전에 새 운동화 사지 않았니?

대호: 응, 하지만 그건 더 이상 유행이 아니야. 이걸 신으니까 더 멋져 보이지, 그렇지?

성진: 대호야, 최신 유행하는 것을 입는 것이 너를 더 멋지고 더 인기 있게 만들어 주지는 않아. 사람들은 네가 너이기 때문에 너를 좋아하는 것이지, 네 옷 때문이 아니야.

대호: 그래?

성진: 들어 봐. 너는 멋진 사람이야. 그것을 증명하기 위해 새 운동화가 필요하지 않아.

 

 

 

 

 

Recently, Minkyeong was asked out by a boy in her class. She wants to say no but does not want to hurt his feelings.

Minkyeong: I need your advice. A boy in my class asked me out. I like him, but for now I don’t want to go out with him. I need to focus on my studies. What should I do?

Counselor: Why don’t you tell him why you can’t go?

Minkyeong: I’m afraid I might hurt his feelings.

Counselor: If you don’t tell him soon, he will misunderstand your feelings, and you may end up hurting him even more.

Minkyeong: Maybe you’re right. Thanks for the advice.

 

 최근에 민경이는 그녀의 반 남자아이에게 데이트 신청을 받았습니다. 그녀는 거절하고 싶지만 그의 감정을 상하게 하고 싶지는 않습니다.

민경: 저는 선생님의 조언이 필요해요. 같은 반 남자아이가 저에게 데이트 신청을 했어요. 저는 그를 좋아하지만 당분간은 그와 데이트하고 싶지 않아요. 저는 공부에 집중해야 해요. 제가 어떻게 해야 할까요?

상담 선생님: 왜 네가 데이트를 할 수 없는지 그에게 말하는 것은 어떨까?

민경: 제가 그의 감정을 상하게 할까 봐 걱정돼요.

상담 선생님: 네가 그에게 빨리 말하지 않으면, 그는 네 감정을 오해할 것이고, 너는 그를 더 아프게 할 수도 있단다.

민경: 선생님 말씀이 맞는 것 같아요. 조언 감사합니다.
