1. 단어 연습

 안녕하세요, 여러분 각 단어와 구문을 영어 5번 우리말 1번씩 적습니다. 그리고 단어 아래 동영상을 본후, 선생님들 앞에서 발표합니다.  그 후 통과하면, 단어 시험지를 선생님에게 받아서 단어 시험 칩니다. 5개 이상 틀리면 다시 테스트 봐야 하니 열심히 공부하시기 바랍니다.

오늘은 문법 영상을 먼저 봅니다. 그리고 난후 '마인드맵'그리고, 선생님들에게 설명을 합니다. 통과 못하면 다시 듣고 다시 선생님들에게 설명합니다. 

 두 번째, 각 워크북의 문법 문제를 풀고 정답을 선생님과 함께 확인합니다. 틀린 문제에 대해서 오답 정리후 다시 선새님께 설명합니다.

본문을 각 문단 별로 영어 2번 우리말 1번씩 적고 영상을 봅니다.

그 후에 적은 내용을 선생님에게 검사 받고 한글을 보며 영어로, 영어를 보며 한글로 읽습니다. 오늘도 화이팅!!! 

본문 1

  Peter is visiting Korea to meet a friend, Mina, from a sister school. Peter is going to stay at her grandfather’s house for a week. When he arrives, Mina shows him the guest room.

Mina: Peter, you will stay here. This guest room is full of traditional Korean things. Look at this pillow.

Peter: What are these things?

Mina: They’re bats.

Peter: Bats on my pillow? That’s scary!

Mina: Not really. In Korea, bats are symbols of luck and a long life.

Peter: That’s surprising. In many Western countries, bats remind people of darkness and scary things.

Peter는 자매 학교 친구인 미나를 만나기 위해 한국을 방문 중이다. Peter는 일주일 동안 그녀의 할아버지 댁에 머무를 것이다. 그가 도착하면, 미나가 그에게 손님방을 보여 준다.

미나: Peter, 넌 여기에서 머무르게 될 거야. 이 손님방은 전통적인 한국의 물건들로 가득 차 있어. 이 베개를 봐.

Peter: 이것들은 뭐니?

미나: 그건 박쥐들이야.

Peter: 내 베개에 박쥐가? 그거 무서운데!

미나: 그렇지 않아. 한국에서는 박쥐가 행운과 장수의 상징이야.

Peter: 그거 놀랍네. 서구의 많은 나라에서는 박쥐가 사람들에게 어둠과 무서운 것들을 상기시키거든.

본문 2

Mina shows Peter her grandfather’s room. Peter and Mina’s grandfather meet and greet each other.

Grandfather: Hi, Peter! Have you ever seen this kind of lock before?

Peter: No, I haven’t. It’s so old that I can’t really tell, but is it a fish?

Grandfather: Yes. For a long time, Koreans have thought that fish are good guards. Fish don’t close their eyes, even when they sleep.

Peter: That’s interesting.

Grandfather: We think fish can watch over valuable things. That’s why this lock looks like a fish.

Peter: Now I understand.

미나는 Peter에게 자신의 할아버지의 방을 보여 준다. Peter와 미나의 할아버지가 만나서 서로 인사한다.

할아버지: 안녕, Peter! 너는 이런 종류의 자물쇠를 전에 본 적이 있니?

Peter: 아니요, 본 적 없어요. 그건 너무 오래되어서 확실히 알아볼 수가 없는데, 물고기인가요?

할아버지: 맞아. 오랜 세월 동안 한국인들은 물고기가 훌륭한 파수꾼이라고 생각해 왔단다. 물고기는 잘 때조차도 눈을 감지 않거든.

Peter: 그거 재미있네요.

할아버지: 우리는 물고기가 귀중품을 지킬 수 있다고 생각해. 그것이 이 자물쇠가 물고기처럼 생긴 이유란다.

Peter: 이제 이해가 되는군요.

본문 3

They go outside and walk around the garden.

Peter: What is on that piece of paper? It looks scary.

Grandfather: Do you mean this painting of a rooster?

Peter: Oh, is it a rooster?

Grandfather: Yes, it is. Roosters crow every morning. Their crowing means that a new day is beginning. For many years, Koreans have believed evil spirits go away when a rooster crows.

Mina: Really? I’ve never heard that before.

Peter: Actually, I’m afraid of darkness and evil spirits. Could you draw a rooster for me, Mina?

Mina: Sure. I’ll draw a big rooster for you!

Grandfather: Put the drawing above your door. Then it will protect you.

Peter: Yes, I will.

Peter’s Diary

May 28

  I’m enjoying this trip so much that I want to stay longer. I love all the traditional Korean symbols in this house. Now I understand a lot of them. I want to visit Korea again with my family.

그들은 밖으로 나가서 정원을 걷는다.

Peter: 저 종이에 있는 것은 뭔가요? 무서워 보여요.

할아버지: 이 수탉 그림을 말하는 거니?

Peter: 오, 그게 수탉이에요?

할아버지: 응, 그렇단다. 수탉은 매일 아침 울지. 수탉의 울음은 새로운 하루가 시작된다는 것을 의미해. 오랫동안 한국인들은 수탉이 울면 악령이 물러간다고 믿어 왔단다.

미나: 정말요? 저는 전에는 그런 말을 들어 본 적이 없어요.

Peter: 사실 전 어둠과 악령을 무서워해요. 미나야, 날 위해 수탉을 그려 줄 수 있니?

미나: 물론이지. 내가 너를 위해 커다란 수탉을 그려 줄게!

할아버지: 그 그림을 네 문 위에 걸어 놓으렴. 그러면 그게 널 지켜 줄 거야.

Peter: 네, 그럴게요.

나는 이번 여행이 매우 즐거워서 더 오래 머무르고 싶다. 나는 이 집에 있는 모든 전통적인 한국의 상징물들이 마음에 든다. 이제 나는 그것들을 많이 알고 있다. 우리 가족들과 함께 한국을 다시 방문하고 싶다.

Hello, this is food reporter Minjun from Korea. For many students, lunch is the best part of the school day. In Korea, we often eat rice and soup for lunch. We also have side dishes, such as Bulgogi or Gimchi. Sometimes our school serves special dishes, such as pizza, Bibimbap, or pasta. What do students who live in other countries eat for lunch? Let’s hear from our food reporters!

Our school serves healthy and balanced meals. We usually eat a salad as an appetizer. Main dishes often include meat or fish. We also eat fresh fruit at the end of the lunch. Oh, I can never forget about baguettes! They’re great with cheese. Our school also has a special rule. We must stay at the lunch table for at least 30 minutes.

Usually, we have beans and rice for lunch. Meat and vegetables are common in our side dishes. My favorite lunch comes with plantains. A plantain is a fruit which looks like a banana. We usually fry plantains. Our school lunches are fresh because the vegetables and fruit come from local farms.

People who live in Singapore come from many different cultures, so we have both Eastern and Western dishes at lunch. Students can choose from many dishes, such as curry, noodle soup, or pasta, each day. My school won an award for healthy school food last year. Our lunches are always healthy, and they taste good, too!

Dear Mom and Dad,

  Hi! How's everything? I'm enjoying my trip to Korea. Right now, I'm in Insa-dong. Tourists visit art shops and eat traditional food here. On this street, my favorite place is Ssamziegil. There are about 70 stores here. They sell special gifts. I'm sending some presents to you. You can learn about Korea from them. I will write to you again soon.

  This is buchae, a Korean fan. Artists make these fans from bamboo and hanji, traditional Korean paper. Then they draw beautiful pictures on them. You can see mugunghwa on your buchae. This flower is a symbol of the Korean people's strong spirit.

  I'm also sending yut for yunnori. It is a traditional Korean board game. In the game, you throw four sticks. They make five different combinations. They decide your move on the board. The combinations are do, gae, geol, yut, and mo. These names mean animals. Koreans play this game during holidays. We will play it together later!
